We only do one thing.
A barbell gym in Sheffield. Twelve platforms, calibrated plates, coaching included in the membership, and nobody asking you to keep the noise down.
What you can do here
Five ways in.
Open gym membership
Full run of the floor, every hour we are open, with coaching on the floor included rather than charged for.
Coached strength
Small groups of four on the platforms, programmed as a block rather than a one-off session. Squat, press, pull, repeat.
One to one
An hour on the platform with one coach and nobody else. Usually technique, sometimes a competition run-up, occasionally just a reset.
Barbell basics
Six weeks, once a week, from never having touched a bar to running your own session confidently. Starts from scratch every month.
Day pass
One day on the floor, no membership, and no sales conversation afterwards. Turn up, train, decide later.
Inside the unit
Twelve platforms
and a lot of chalk
Why choose us
Why train here
Cast Iron opened in a unit off Attercliffe Road in 2011, with four platforms and a secondhand rack. There are twelve platforms now and the rack is still here.
More about usThe gym
We are a barbell gym. That is the whole idea. There are no screens on the wall, no class running through the middle of your session, and no machine that does the thinking for you. What there is: calibrated plates, competition bars, a lot of chalk, and somebody on the floor who can tell you why your third rep moved differently to your second.
